Shawn McCulley
Head Coach
Shawn has been involved in youth sports in general for 20 years. He has coached softball for 10+ years. He always makes it about the kids.
Shawn is a father of 4 with 1 child in travel softball. He is also a grandfather of 2. He prides himself and his staff on development. At the end of the day, that’s the number 1 goal as a coach.
Shawn also enjoys the outdoors. Camping and fishing are a couple of his favorite past times away from the softball field. He also enjoys college sports. Shawn is a huge IU basketball fan, Chicago Bears football fan and Chicago Cubs baseball fan! Last but not least, Shawn is excited to continue his journey with Purple Haze and plans to continue building something special here!
Amanda Kuehr
Assistant Coach
Amanda is a mom of three awesome kids. She has coached many different sports over the last 16 years but softball has been the most frequent. Amanda started coaching rec level from t-ball through senior level off and on for 14 years. She joined coaching travel two seasons ago and has loved it!
Amanda says she enjoys learning from the girls as much as she enjoys teaching them.
Amanda enjoys nature, visiting the ocean, and animals. She loves spending time with her family and playing games. She is excited to be part of the Purple Haze family and helping the girls grow and continue to love the game!
Dan Lane
Assistant Coach
Dan, father of 1 (daughter), joins Purple Haze with no previous coaching experience but has a lifelong passion for baseball/softball. He’s very excited as a new coach to both teach as well learn and progress alongside this team.
Dan has over 20 years of experience working with kids in healthcare, including the past 14 years as a Flight Respiratory Therapist for IU Health LifeLine Critical Care Transport. He is eager to bring his dedication and expertise to the softball fields.
Dan enjoys family time and following St. Louis Cardinals games with his daughter Charlie. He looks forward to creating memorable experiences on and off the field. When not landlocked, he does prefer vacationing in the Florida Keys.
